Hi, I’m Alejandra Caballero
A Mexican artist based in Mexico City. My journey began in my mother’s tiny art studio, where I spent hours drawing as a kid, surrounded by paints and art books. That early creative environment sparked a passion that’s only grown stronger.
I studied visual arts at La Esmeralda, in Mexico City, but much of what I know came from learning online, thanks to generous artists sharing their process. That spirit of sharing is what inspires me to teach today.
I specialize in portraits featuring vibrant colors, playful backgrounds, and a mix of realism and bold, expressive shapes. My process is intuitive and meditative, rooted in strong fundamentals but open to discovery and fun!

In this section, you’ll learn how to build a visual catalog, create mood boards, and gather references in a way that actually spark ideas. Painting Your Cat Portrait & Staying Inspired
Now it’s time to put everything together! I’ll guide you through my full cat portrait process. from the initial sketch to color blocking, sculpting, fur details, and final touches. You’ll see how I keep things expressive and experimental throughout.
